In a statement made by Police PRO DSP Folashade Odoro, she reported that two males also sustained injuries and were being treated at Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital (OAUTHC), Ile Ife.
The Toyota Hiace bus marked MUS 702 XZ that was carrying the deceased passengers was coming from Ore in Ondo state and was said to have collided with a petrol tanker making a U-turn on the expressway. The collision resulted in an explosion which claimed the lives of the deceased.
