The heartless act was carried out by a group of six youths, after they abducted her near her home in Lakhisarai district.
According to the Police chief, Ashok Kumar, the girl was sexually assaulted in an isolated spot, before she was forced into a train at the local station. Hours later, she was found on the track, injured and unconscious.
A boy has also been arrested as one of the suspects in the case. Medical results to confirm sexual assault are being awaited.
The girl is being treated at a government hospital, where she is fighting for her life.
