The woman who was in her 20's went into premature labor on the flight between Damman in Saudi Arabia and Kochi in the southern Indian state of Kerala.
The woman was said to be 32 weeks pregnant when she delivered her baby.
The airplane, which had 162 passengers on board had to divert to Mumbai, where the woman and her child were taken to a hospital near the airport for medical attention.
Jet Airways said it was the first time a baby had been delivered in one of their flights, so the baby was awarded with free travel for life, with the airline.
