Six secondary school students of Lagos Model College, Igbonla, Epe who were kidnapped are set to be released by their kidnappers after they collected a ransom of 10 million naira.
According to reports, America, who was the leader of the kidnappers, and his gang eventually collected 10 million naira from the parents of the students around 8pm yesterday evening and were expected to set them free after that.
The kidnappers who abducted the students on May 25, 2017, initially demanded a ransom of 400 million naira, which was later reduced to 100 million naira, as the parents found it difficult to raise such amount.
The kidnappers were said to have advised the parents to reach out to others for help in raising the money and also for them to mount pressure on the state government to raise the money for them.
