13 people have been confirmed dead by the Police, including 3 suicide bombers, while 24 others sustained injuries in a recent combined attack by the Boko Haram and some suicide bombers, in Maiduguri, Borno.
The terrorists who were said to have come in, through Molai area in the outskirts of Maiduguri metropolis, released fire from their guns and set fire to some houses and makeshift tents in the neighborhood. They were however, engaged by the military in a duel which lasted for about two hours, after which the terrorists fled back.
One of the terrorist that was captured during the attack is being held by the Army. Some AK 47 rifles, bombs and hand grenades were recovered from the terrorists, as reported by Damian Chukwu, Borno state Police Commissioner. He also added that one civilian was killed in the stampede as civilians tried to flee the community.
In a statement made by the Deputy Director, Army Public relations, Lt-Col. Kingsley Samuel, he said the situation is under control and he requested that the general public stay calm.
